Chatto to publish charity title

Random House imprint Chatto & Windus is partnering with charity The Reader Organisation (TRO) to publish an anthology designed to be read aloud.

A Little, Aloud: An Anthology of Prose and Poetry for Reading Aloud for Someone You Care For is lined up for 30th September.

Each piece in the title will be accompanied by short introductions and discussion topics, from pieces submitted by Elizabeth Jennings and Helen Dunmore to extracts from Black Beauty and Shakespeare. Author Blake Morrison, chair of TRO's board of trustees, has written an introduction.

All royalties from the title will go to TRO, which runs read-aloud "Get Into Reading" groups for people who can't or won't ordinarily read for themselves, including the elderly, the chronically or mentally ill, prisoners, ex-addicts and excluded children.
