Gallic Spots online campaign

Independent Gallic Books is to advertise a new title by François Lelord on music streaming site Spotify. The publisher, which specialises in bringing French writing to English-speaking readers, will promote Lelord’s Hector and the Search for Happiness on the site, which has almost 3m members, for two weeks during April.

As well as the Spotify campaign, Gallic will promote the title via online adverts, a postcard campaign and Tube ads, which will direct customers towards a microsite, where the first chapter of the book can be downloaded for free, plus an interview with the author and links to Gallic’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

Jane Aitken, Gallic Books m.d., said: "Hector and the Search for Happiness is a book with such wide appeal that it made sense for us to advertise it on Spotify and get the message out to an audience who might not otherwise hear about it."

Hector will be published in April, and is also being made into a film by European film company Egoli Tossell, with the cast being announced at this year’s Berlin Film Festival.
