Alibi looks for hidden crime talent
08.02.10 | Graeme Neill
Crime drama channel Alibi has launched a competition to find the UK's hidden crime talent, with the help of Stuart MacBride. The HarperCollins author has provided the first line for a short story competition. All entries must begin "In my experience, those who beg for mercy seldom deserve it".
The submitted stories must be between 2,000 and 5,000 words. The closing date is noon on 16th May and the three finalists will win tickets to Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate.
The winner will be announced on 22nd July, at the beginning of the crime festival, and will win a Sony Reader and library of 100 crime books, including a signed Stuart McBride back catalogue.
HarperCollins will also create a special e-edition of the winner's story, which will be made available as a download.
