Mills & Boon has teamed up with Sony to produce an exclusive e-reader, becoming the first UK publisher to do so.
The Mills & Boon Reader Pocket Edition is available in a rose pink finish and comes with three pre-loaded Christmas stories, exclusive to the model, as well as a voucher for 10 further Mills & Boon e-book downloads. The reader is available to buy from Sony centers from today (16th November). It also comes with a leather case with the M&B rose logo embossed on the cover.
Tim Cooper, director of direct and digital marketing at Mills & Boon, said: "We're delighted to be working with Sony and to be the first UK publisher to partner in this way. We've already had a fantastic response to Mills & Boon e-books and I'm confident that the Mills & Boon Reader Pocket Edition will encourage many more to enjoy romantic fiction and e-books in general."
Omar Gurnah, category manager for Reader for Sony UK said: "We've done our best to offer true fans an amazing opportunity to experience exclusive books and content, and we hope this is the beginning of many collaborations."
The website Computer Shopper has also reported that there will be a James Patterson Reader Pocket Edition in time for Christmas. The reader will come pre-loaded with Patterson's Cross Country, a free download of Worst Case, the new Alex Cross novel not due for publication until January 2010, and a letter from the author.
