Description:

Great opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join a leading STM publisher in London as an Account Manager.  You will be responsible for delivering commercial (e-)display sales across a range of health sciences content. There are two positions available in this team - a maternity cover contract to start ASAP and running for 15 month to end March 2014 and a permanent role.

 

Key duties:

  • Responsible for print & online Display Advertising revenues across leading health science journals
  • Maximize sales and revenue in assigned Accounts and provide a solutions based approach to existing and prospective clients
  • Research the market as well as Pharma pipeline in order to maximize revenue opportunities for areas represented
  • Build relationships with UK Media Agencies and Pharmaceutical/Medical Instrument companies with a view to providing solutions for their marketing and promotional requirements
  • Undertake face to face sales and deliver presentations
  • Attend key conferences throughout the year with a view to establishing contact with key players and thereafter building relationships
  • Regular reporting of pipeline and prospect sales back to Sales Manager as well as key market intelligence critical for formulating future Pharma strategy
  • Work closely with Publishers societies across core titles to discuss promotional activities

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Solid track record in commercial sales with the ability to negotiate and close deals successfully
  • Sales experience in the medical, pharmaceutical industry and / or extensive knowledge of journal / book publishing / media sales
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Good commercial awareness and organisational skills
  • A high degree of self-motivation and proactive approach
