Description:
This is a unique opportunity for an adaptable and experienced Project Editor to join a global leader in educational publishing, to work on and manage publishing projects (print and electronic) across the Vocational publishing list. This role will work closely with Publishers and other relevant departments as part of a team, to ensure Vocational publishing materials are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. Senior Project Editors will work across all subjects/projects within the division.
Based at their London office this role will involve creating, developing and managing the input for a range of electronic and print products through all stages of the editorial process, with a high level of autonomy; briefing freelance editors and maintaining quality of their work; helping to set budgets and schedules and working across the department on print and electronic products as required. You will provide an editorial lead on more complex projects and will help to mentor/develop more junior editors. This role will also work closely with the Publisher during each project to obtain the best competitive advantage in relation to cost and quality of the project.
This is an ideal role for someone who is interested in developing their career further within Vocational publishing and the successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have proven editorial or project management experience within a Vocational or Educational publishing environment, whilst clearly understanding the educational environment and the curriculum structure. You will be able to build relationships with authors, able to think analytically and able to demonstrate experience of working on electronic products.
