New Holland Publishers is looking for an experienced Production Controller to work on a wide range of illustrated and non-illustrated titles in its busy central London office. Reporting to the Production Director based in Sydney, Australia, the successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the print production process: from planning to final delivery, including scheduling, costing, quality control, shipping and record keeping, and will liaise extensively with internal departments and outside suppliers to ensure the company gets first class service, excellent quality and competitive prices.

Candidates should be experienced in all aspects of illustrated book production, both colour and b/w, including experience of co-editions. Sound knowledge of colour repro, and PDF workflows are required, and knowledge of Filemaker would be an additional advantage. The successful candidate will be highly organised, energetic, effective  and committed, showing meticulous attention to detail, strong communication and problem solving skills, and will have the ability to build excellent business relationships with in-house colleagues and external suppliers alike.  The candidate should be also able to demonstrate excellent negotiation and problem solving skills, both at technical and business levels, and will be involved in forward planning, process improvement initiatives and project management. Priority will be given to early applications.
