A great opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Senior Production Controller on this high profile and interesting illustrated list. The department produces a diverse range of well recognised, uniquely produced, and highly successful titles, which co-print in numerous languages.

This role is a 1 year contract but will give you a unique opportunity to develop and broaden your production and commercial skills working within this global, trade publishing company. You will be involved in the creation and delivery of product for various global markets which often has time sensitive delivery dates, liaising with both creative and sales teams to help create the most innovative and suitable product for the market.

You will be responsible for all aspects of your list from conception to delivery including costing, scheduling, quality control and general problem solving. Previous experience of safety testing and books plus is desirable.

With a passion for production you will possess an eager ability to negotiate favourable production costing for all titles and will be able to prioritise in an efficient manner to create scheduling plans. A first rate communicator, you will be adept at building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, creative and sales colleagues alike, always looking for the best solutions and providing feedback where necessary.

You will be enthusiastic, proactive and able to demonstrate a high level of efficiency with excellent time management skills. You’ll understand the role that a Senior Production Controller plays in a commercial environment and be profit oriented, enjoying the challenges of negotiating to tight margins. You will be willing and able to think creatively about how best to achieve targets while working to tight deadlines; have a sharp eye for detail, be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, and will be responsible for the line management of the Production Controller on your list.
