Our client is a highly regarded and well known academic publishing house. With offices all over the world, and an excellent acquisition strategy, they are well known for working with the world’s best academics and authors including many Nobel Prize winners. Their publications, published both in print and online, are considered as leading works in their field, and are highly regarded in academic and business circles alike.
They are seeking a Senior Editorial Assistant to join their books team and assist with researching, acquiring, and publishing new projects. You will be supported and developed by the editorial management team to pursue an active and efficient acquisitions policy, and will quickly develop the strong planning and relationship management and development skills necessary to become a world-class commissioning editor. To do this, you will manage contract negotiations, undertake correspondence with authors, attend meetings, and consult advisors. You will interact with other editors as well as the production department, product managers, and sales department, drawing their skills and expertise together to help you in making final recommendations and publishing schedules. You must be educated to MSc/PhD level or equivalent in a technical or scientific discipline with outstanding organisational and communication skills.
