Our client, a leading international academic publisher is looking to appoint a talented Sales Manager EMEA, ideally based in the UK. 

Reporting to the the Senior Sales Manager EMEA you will be responsible for generating new sales across our clients print and e-book portfolio as well as journals and databases to key trade and library accounts in the UK, Benelux, Eastern Europe and South Africa through market analysis and strategic plan development.

Responsibilities include the following:

Drive sales activities from inquiry to order placement for e-products to consortia as well as key library customers in the respective markets.
Manage key library suppliers and e-book aggregators to increase sales via these channels.
Foster new business relations with key accounts on new and acquired e-products.
Set regional sales strategy planning to maximize revenue from existing key markets while building sales in less developed ones.
Generate a high level of customer contact based on a target-oriented informatory customer approach and a professionally managed database.
Produce sales/business reports according to deadlines.

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:

Minimum three to six years of experience in the academic publishing industry.
In-depth knowledge and strong relationships with consortia and academic libraries.
Aptitude for contract language discussions and negotiations
Experience with sales of digital journals, eBooks and/or databases is a must
Experience working closely with marketing and customer service departments on customer relations and product development
A motivated results-oriented personality with a track record for success.
A can-do problem solving attitude as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
A demonstrated interpersonal ability in client relations and customer contact
Ability and desire to travel extensively
