Description:

A leading academic publisher in central London is looking for two Production Editors to take overall responsibility for the production of a list of academic journals. With an attractive benefits and rewards package this is an excellent opportunity to work for a friendly and exciting publisher.

Key duties:

• Manage the production of a list of journals from acquiring copy to final print and online files
• Responsible for the publication of journals by the planned issue date and to the contracted extent
• Monitor and manage freelance project managers, copy-editors and proof-readers
• Provide support to academic editors, board members and contributors
• Share responsibility for managing and monitoring editorial and origination costs
• Liaise regularly with editorial and marketing colleagues to keep them informed of developments/issues

Experience / skills required:

• Proven editorial production experience within journals publishing
• Experience of working with freelance suppliers
• Sound proof-reading and copy-editing skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Good understanding of typesetting, printing and design
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
