Are you looking for an exciting new challenge in STM journal production? Our client, a prestigious and well established scientific society based in central London, has a dynamic and expanding journals publishing operation. As part of their strategic development, they are looking to appoint an experienced Production Editor to be part of a small team.

Responsible for the post-acceptance production of journal content (online & print) to fixed publishing deadlines, the Production Editor controls the accuracy and quality of the journal, directing the work of contractors. Key tasks will include: project management of journal-content production from final, refereed copy to online and print publications; co-ordination of authors and contractors to meet weekly (online) and fortnightly (print) publication deadlines; and quality control of all published material for scientific consistency and presentation, advising authors accordingly.

Applicants should have proven experience in an STM-publishing environment and be educated to degree level (in science preferably) or have the equivalent in experience.  You should have a proven ability in copy-editing/proof-reading; possess excellent project-management skills; and be at ease with mark-up languages and web technology.
