The perfect next step for an Assistant Production Controller. Our client, a leading STM publisher in Oxford, is looking to appoint a Project Manager to manage the development and production of a range of encyclopaedias. This is an integral role working within a busy and friendly department for an international STM publisher.

 Key duties:

• Manage the development and production of designated articles, comprehensives and encyclopaedias
• Manage a number of large and complex projects effectively
• Work within a combined development and production team
• Work closely with internal publishers, sales and marketing and finance teams
• Maintain and develop close working relationships with editors, authors and suppliers
• Assist with other project work as required

Experience / skills required:

• Proven ability to prioritise workload effectively
• Ability to effectively manage large and complex projects through the publishing cycle
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with internal/external contacts with good negotiation skills
• Detailed understanding of the publishing process
• Excellent IT skills especially Office packages
• Relevant publishing experience gained in an STM environment preferred
• Some knowledge of HTML/XML would be useful but not essential
