An excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Controller has arisen to join the Production Special Sales team of this well-known illustrated trade book publisher, working to produce special sales and customized publishing projects. 
This contract position will give you a unique opportunity to develop and broaden your production and commercial skills as this small friendly team works closely with their global sales colleagues to produce exciting formats and editions to fulfil customer briefs, or niche market opportunities. You will be involved in the development, negotiation, creation and delivery of product for various global markets across both Adult and Children’s lists. With an opportunity for creativity and input into the development process, you will be responsible for all aspects of your projects from conception to delivery including costing, sourcing, scheduling, quality control and general problem solving. Previous experience of safety testing is desirable but not essential.
With a passion for production you will possess an eager ability to negotiate favourable pricing for all projects. You will be organised and able to prioritise in an efficient manner while demonstrating flexibility to accommodate demanding customer and schedule requirements.
The successful candidates will become key members of the special sales production team. You will have a proactive approach with a keen desire to learn and to share. You should be comfortable working both independently and within a team. You’ll understand the role that production plays in a commercial environment and be profit orientated. As a first rate communicator, you will be adept at building and maintaining effective relationships with global sales teams, suppliers and creative colleagues alike.
