A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic marketer to join a leading international professional publisher of academic journals and books. Our client is seeking a Marketing Manager for North America to be responsible for managing and developing the marketing strategy for all products and services across the US and Canada. This is a permanent role based in our client’s Boston HQ.

Reporting to the head office in the UK and working closely with Regional Managers, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for one Marketing Executive and main duties will include: developing, implementing and regularly reviewing the overall marketing strategy for books and journals; managing, budgeting, measuring and reporting on the success of campaigns; participating in strategy groups; planning, and implementing marketing campaigns using the full marketing mix including social media, online and offline marketing activities; liaising with and reporting regularly to head office ensuring all objectives are being met; and occasional travel as required.

The ideal candidate will be a commercially-focused, team-player with the ability to turn initiatives into action and will have an excellent knowledge of marketing strategies used within the scholarly publishing sector. Along with strong analytical and organisational skills you should possess excellent relationship management skills and the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders of all levels both locally and internationally.  The Marketing Manager will have solid experience of marketing books or journals and a familiarity of the full marketing mix.
