A leading international academic publisher based in Oxfordshire, is looking for an experienced journals editor to join highly successful Computer Science list. This is a demanding role with great potential for future growth, ideal for an independent thinker looking for an opportunity to advance their career.

Key duties:

• Focus on the management, development, and growth of the list
• Build on existing content to achieve sales goals
• Be directly responsible for staff management
• Oversee the financial well-being of the journal list
• Make presentations at editorial board meetings
• Work seamlessly with colleagues in Marketing, Production and other departments
• Build and maintain good relationships with a global group of academic editors and learned society contacts

Experience / skills required:

• Solid experience in either a journal or academic books editorial environment is essential
• You must have enthusiasm for the subject area
• An understanding of the commercial side of journals publishing
• Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong communication and presentation skills are essential
• An independent, business savvy attitude is a must
