Our client, a leading STM publisher requires a new journal publisher for their Civil Engineering list. 

You will need to be a strategic thinker, enthusiastic about developing the future direction of a collection of market leading journals in the field of civil engineering. You will also need to be a people-oriented networker willing to travel 6-8 weeks a year. A strong interest in the future of learned journals and opportunities provided by Internet, social media and STM publishing market developments is also required.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and shape the innovation of scientific communication in a variety of civil engineering sub-disciplines. As Publisher you will be responsible for delivering the strategy, business plans and objectives for the maintenance, development and growth of a collection of civil engineering journals, working within the overall STM journals business.

Key Result Areas:

· Development of strategy and business plans in response to market needs
· Networking with individuals, institutions, societies and other key stakeholders
· Acquisition of new content
· Journal and portfolio day-to-day management to meet agreed budgets and targets
· Launch of new products and services addressing market requirements

Candidate profile:

· Ability to take the initiative and demonstrate creativity
· Strategic and commercial skills
· Networking and relationship building
· Negotiation and communication skills

Experience:

. University degree BSc/MSc/PhD or equivalent in a relevant scientific/engineering field
· Publishing experience or other relevant commercial experience would be desirable
