Description:

A leading international publisher of open access journals across science, technology, and medicine (STM) are looking for a dynamic individual to join their team dedicated to managing their open access journals, for an initial 6 month contract.

The Journal Manager will be responsible for a team of Journal Coordinators to liaise with Editors-in-Chief and personnel to develop and launch new journals in this specialist sector. This team will be responsible for:

• Consulting with colleagues on contractual and other set-up arrangements
• Working across teams to ensure smooth set up and launch of new journals
• Provide up to date reporting and co-ordination for all journals in the portfolio

The successful candidate will have strong experience within STM publishing and journal management with experience of managing a team and building internal and external relationships. You will be competent using IT systems and have strong time management skills with proven ability in seeing through tasks and projects to completion following strict deadlines. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive, can-do attitude to problem-solving and an interest in Open Access publishing.
