Description:

A world leading finance publisher based in Buckinghamshire is looking to recruit an Intellectual Property Manager to manage and develop their IP and play an instrumental role in providing best practice and education to the business.

Key duties:

• Manage and develop the company’s IP to ensure assets are protected and liability is contained
• Catalogue all rights associated with content commissioned and maintain a register of all IP and associated rights
• Advise other departments on content commissioning and be actively involved in contract negotiation and creation
• Ensure IP guidelines are current and updated as required
• Inform and educate colleagues on IP management and protection best practice
• React to misuse of IP, involving legal support where required

Experience / skills required:

• Experience of managing an active IP portfolio in a publishing or commercial environment
• Solid understanding of all forms of IP and a sound knowledge of IP law, including copyright and rights ownership
• First class negotiation skills and experience of handling content licensing and reproduction requests
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proactive approach and ability to progress complex and detailed projects
