Description:

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to join a leading global STM publisher.  Based in London, you will lead a sales team to deliversales into Pharmaceutical Companies, Medical Communication and Media Agencies.

Key duties:

• Management:
• Provide leadership and direction to a team of Account Managers
• Set realistic and challenging sales targets and objectives
• Contribute to the sales planning process, implement processes to improve performance and support L&D
• Account management:
• Deliver individual and Team targets
• Establishing and maintaining long term relationships with clients (Societies, Professional Congress Organisers, Pharmaceutical companies, Med Comms Agencies etc)
• Understanding current clients’ marketing and communication needs with a view to generating additional revenues
• Keep abreast of developments within the Pharma market, as well as new technologies within the market
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to generate ideas for new products

Experience / skills required:

• Must have proven track record within Pharma related sales in the STM publishing / Med Comms sectors
• Ability to negotiate and close deals successfully and lead a team to do so
• Outstanding presentation / communication / diplomatic / reporting skills
• Commercially minded, with strong relationship development skills, combining creativity and initiative with business sense
• Skills in creating cross-cultural understandings (good in networking) and a very international mindset
• Strong project management and planning skills  
• Good knowledge and experience of electronic publishing and publishing processes
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential; a working knowledge of other European languages would be beneficial
