Description:

Our client is a leading information provider looking for an Editor to join their team working on Drug Development and Manufacturing titles. This is an exciting role for someone looking to join a lively and enthusiastic team. This role is based in Chester but candidates wishing to work from home will be considered. The role will involve some travel.

Key duties:

• Solicit and review articles relating to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical research
• Develop Europe specific content for European titles
• Identify industry thought leaders and solicit contributions to magazine
• Write feature stories, news stories, blogs and content for other print and electronic products
• Conduct interviews, moderate panels for webcasts, videocasts, podcasts and during live events
• Oversee work of junior editors, columnists and freelance contributors
• Liaise closely with the sales team and Editorial Director to further business development

Experience / skills required:

• Experience in STM publishing, preferably with journals and in the biological or pharmaceutical sciences
• Knowledge of basic scientific editing conventions
• A life science degree or equivalent
• Experience or qualification in journalism is desirable
• An ability to spot trends and an interest in scientific news and developments
• Editorial experience is essential
