An Oxford-based medical communications agency is looking to recruit a multi-skilled self-starter to join their small team. This multi-faceted role comprises elements of editorial work, project management and client liaison, working on accounts for a variety of pharmaceutical clients.
The balance of editing, writing, project management and account management duties will vary depending on the nature of the account and the experience of the successful candidate, and applicants should be adaptable with strong time management and prioritization skills. Core responsibilities include: *editing or writing content as appropriate; * preparing briefing materials for freelancers, checking the quality of work; * tracking pieces of work to ensure that schedules are met and projects are completed to timescale and within budget; and * liaising with clients to take briefs, report on progress and facilitate efficient working practices.
Applicants from a variety of backgrounds will be considered, but should have a mix of some of the following skills: copy editing, medical writing, account management/project management within editorial production. Those with previous experience within a medcomms agency environment will have an advantage, though candidates with transferrable skills from STM publishing will also be considered. An academic background in life sciences or medicine is essential (or extensive experience in hands on editing of medical content).
