A prestigious global publisher of scientific materials with offices in the Middle East is looking to appoint an Editorial Manager to head up their editorial team in Dubai.

This is a new and exciting opportunity with the purpose of the role to run all aspects of the editorial process in Dubai. The Editorial Manager will be responsible for establishing good editorial working practices, ensuring that processes are followed appropriately by all editorial staff and clinical stakeholders involved in pathway development, and that pathways are delivered to schedule.  Key responsibilities include: to ensure the pathway is kept up to date, whether through scheduled or interim publications; to ensure editorial and clinical style is consistent and appropriate throughout all communications; to investigate possible changes to the editorial methodology and implement as appropriate; to proactively understand the needs to stakeholders and customers so as to produce reports of varied formats according to need; and to ensure the methodology is continually improved and the team delivering them is appropriately trained.

The successful candidate will have worked in an editorial capacity with medical information, including the peer review process, and will have a thorough understanding of its values and limitations.  In addition they will have experience of working successfully with clinical experts, and of managing editorial staff. Copyediting and proof-reading skills and experience of building and auditing workflows are also required. Experience of healthcare systems in the Middle East and of managing or supervising staff remotely would also be beneficial but not essential.  In return our client offers a competitive salary package.
