Are you an experienced copy editor with a background in geology or earth sciences? This in-house copy editor role offers a great opportunity to take on a key role in a small and fast-growing digital B2B publishing team. The company publishes a variety of products for the international geosciences community covering monthly updates to their flagship online mapping product, as well as articles, case studies and bespoke reports for clients.

As the only copy editor in the team you will need to be confident working on your own initiative and working to tight deadlines. Priorities can change quickly in this role and the ability to react and adapt while producing work to a high standard is essential. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate significant experience in editing scientific material and subject knowledge specific to geology or the earth sciences is critical. Knowledge of the petroleum exploration industry would be a distinct advantage.

Communication skills are also very important to ensure effective working relationships with in-house geologists (some of whom are second language English speakers) and the publishing team. Experience of briefing and working with designers and cartographers would also be useful.
