Summary
Cico Books, an imprint of Ryland Peters and Small, is an international co-edition publisher of craft, interiors, lifestyle, wellbeing, and mind, body and spirit titles, plus a gift and stationery range. We are looking for a commissioning editor specializing in the areas of MBS/self help and wellbeing.
 
The Role
• Participating in the development of the publishing programme, including generating ideas and commissioning new authors for books across the list
• Liaising closely with the Art Director, as well as Production, Foreign Rights and Sales
• Drawing up budgets and schedules and monitoring them throughout the process
• Working closely with authors, from negotiating contracts to dealing with queries
• Project-managing a number of individual titles, from manuscript to finished copy
• Writing creative and marketing copy for book jackets and sales materials
 
Experience and skills
• A keen eye for trends both in the UK and the US and the ability to follow up publishing opportunities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• The ability to work well under pressure, as well as good problem-solving skills
• A meticulous attention to detail, as well as sound technical ability
