Our client is an established and highly successful academic publisher and they are looking for a talented and motivated Commissioning Editor to work across their Maths list in their central London office.

As Commissioning Editor you will be responsible for managing and developing a profitable list. Key responsibilities will include completing market and competitor analysis to identify new publishing opportunities, composing proposals, planning research strategies, overseeing projects as well as liaising with other editorial members of staff, authors and academics to ensure excellent quality levels, schedules and budgets are maintained.

The successful candidate will have a high level degree in Mathematics (or equivalent) and will have proven experience commissioning within academic publishing, ideally within the area of Maths, Physics or Engineering, as well as have excellent negotiation, organisation and networking skills. Familiarity with production and marketing processes for academic books is essential, and candidates should be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, numeracy and strong relationship building skills.  In return, the company offers a competitive salary with a range of great benefits.
