Commissioning Editor – educational publishing – Kent. This Commissioning Editor position provides an exciting opportunity to join a small specialist publisher producing a range of textbooks, revision guides and electronic products for the independent schools market. The company is now also investing in digital publishing and curriculum development, and is growing rapidly! They are looking to recruit a Commissioning Editor to lead and develop their fast growing schedule of publishing projects and are interested to hear from candidates who are passionate in creating top quality, rigorous and demanding educational resources. The Commissioning Editor will work with the Marketing Director and Digital Publishing Director to facilitate the commissioning stages of all published material from feasibility to final stages, contributing to market research and the development of new publications and new products. The role will also involve coordinating project set-up and the early stages of delivery up to formal handover to production. Ideal candidates will have existing experience in a commissioning or product development role, preferably in educational publishing, though other areas will be considered. Candidates must also possess good communication skills both written and verbal, strong organisation skills, be able to respond to change and challenges with enthusiasm, and be able to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative.
