Commissioning Editor – digital content (Norwich or London) - our client is a major contract publisher and information management solutions provider with a mainly government client base. The organization is looking to focus more specifically on digital delivery and this Commissioning Editor role providesan exciting opportunity join an expanding team responsible for managing one of the organisation’s key clients.

The Commissioning Editor will take responsibility for managing and developing content, primarily in web-format, as well as other electronic and printed formats as required. The role will include elements of managing project budgets and finances, developing specifications, managing collaborative client relationships and monitoring editorial quality.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous commissioning experience and knowledge of both digital and print-based publishing workflows. He/she will have proven skills and experience managing authors and content creators, and delivering to tight deadlines. Communication skills are key in this position, not only to manage client relationships, but also to negotiate and liaise effectively with external providers. Good time and project management skills are also important and knowledge of a project management methodology such as PRINCE2 would be highly beneficial. Candidates with experience of publishing for the public or government sectors will have a distinct advantage.
