Business Development Manager - a highly respected publisher of information for the technical/engineering trade is looking to fill a new and varied senior role within the company. The organization has recently created a division focusing on delivering content for its practitioner members and is now looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to drive the exploitation of commercial opportunities in publishing for this market sector. The successful candidate will develop and implement a practitioner publishing strategy based on the results of market research, as well as a variety of premium online content offerings as appropriate.

The organisation is looking to attract candidates with the following: * proven experience in publishing business development and a demonstrable track record in revenue generation and growth ; * evidence of developing and launching either digital or print publishing products; * a strong understanding of e-publishing  in either or B2B or academic environment; * a proven track record of initiating and building successful business relationships and partnerships; * an ability to generate research and development programmes for new products and to implement viable results; * an ability to demonstrate and apply the financial principles underlying a successful publishing programme; * strategic insight and the ability to deal with complexity; * and  * significant experience in STM or engineering publishing. 

An understanding of commercial issues is essential, but please note that this is NOT a sales position.
