If you have production editorial experience and are interested in working for a prestigious London academic publisher, this could be an excellent opportunity for you! A well-established publisher of academic books is looking for a Production Editor to manage the production of their Criminology, Business and Management titles. You will take responsibility for this list, taking receipt of manuscript through to publication, ensuring that each title is published on schedule and to a high quality. You will monitor and appraise the quality of work carried out by freelancers, provide support services to authors and editors, and liaise with other departments, in particularly collaborating with editorial over style concerns and briefing design on cover and layout. The successful candidate will have proven production experience, preferably on academic books, though other areas will be considered as well. You will have excellent copyediting and proofreading skills, a good understanding of typesetting and be competent in Microsoft Word and Excel. You will be an excellent project manager, with an ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate well with suppliers, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
