Description:
Great opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join a leading STM publisher in London as an Account Manager. You will be responsible for delivering commercial (e-)display sales across a range of health sciences content. This is a maternity cover contract to start in January and running for 15 month to end March 2014.
Key duties:
- Responsible for print & online Display Advertising revenues across leading health science journals
- Maximize sales and revenue in assigned Accounts and provide a solutions based approach to existing and prospective clients
- Research the market as well as Pharma pipeline in order to maximize revenue opportunities for areas represented
- Build relationships with UK Media Agencies and Pharmaceutical/Medical Instrument companies with a view to providing solutions for their marketing and promotional requirements
- Undertake face to face sales and deliver presentations
- Attend key conferences throughout the year with a view to establishing contact with key players and thereafter building relationships
- Regular reporting of pipeline and prospect sales back to Sales Manager as well as key market intelligence critical for formulating future Pharma strategy
- Work closely with Publishers societies across core titles to discuss promotional activities
Experience / skills required:
- Solid track record in commercial sales with the ability to negotiate and close deals successfully
- Sales experience in the medical, pharmaceutical industry and / or extensive knowledge of journal / book publishing / media sales
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent negotiation and presentation skills
- Good commercial awareness and organisational skills
- A high degree of self-motivation and proactive approach
