Description:

A leading international publisher of journals, books, and electronic media for academics and professionals are seeking a Sales Representative for their Scandinavian territory.  Based in our client’s central London office, as a Sales Rep you will play a key role in helping lecturers and teachers find the right resources they need to inspire their students.  This forward-thinking and customer focused company offer first-class benefits and thorough training along with the opportunity for career development.

Reporting to the UK & Europe Field Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving sales targets for the territory through strategic focus on priorities, targeting key adoptions in universities and managing bookshop account relationships.  Your duties will include: consulting with lecturers to develop an in-depth understanding of their teaching challenges and resource requirements, then using your knowledge of print and electronic products to suggest the most beneficial solution; sharing product and market feedback with sales, editorial and marketing teams so as to work together to develop new products in line with customer needs; working with bookshop accounts to promote new titles and maximize sales for the bookshop and the company overall.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, passion, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn new skills and perform at the highest level. Experience in sales or the publishing sector is an advantage but far from essential as our client will provide extensive training and coaching support for the right candidate.  You will ideally have a good understanding of Academic or Professional publishing and have proven commercial experience to demonstrate your knowledge. Excellent written and spoken English is a must and a second relevant Northern European language (Swedish, Finish, Norwegian, Danish, or Icelandic) would be an advantage. Willingness to travel throughout the territory is essential.  With strong communication skills, a disciplined work ethic and a results focused attitude, you will be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to build on their publishing career and gain top-notch training and development from a world leading organisation.
