Irish-owned retailer Eason has reached agreement with staff over a cost-reduction programme involving 150 redundancies, after months of negotiations with union Siptu.
The company is also to close its shop in Talbot Street, Dublin, on 12th March, with the shop's 12 staff offered redeployment or redundancy.

The long wait for news about job cuts at Eason should be over by the end of this month following weeks of negotiation, it has been revealed. More than 145 full-time positions at the Irish chain are currently under threat.

Irish bookseller Eason is to hold talks at the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) next week with staff facing a reported 10% pay cut and 90 jobs at risk.
