Poet Roger McGough has written stories for a promotion from frozen food brand Birds Eye.
The campaign sees teatime stories for three to 10-year-olds penned as "stories on a plate" to entertain children during meals.
A quarter of a million such plates will be given away for free through Sainsbury's and Morrisons...

This year’s instalment of The Bookseller Industry Awards will be the biggest to date, with 19 prizes given out on the night, plus the Booksellers Association’s Gerry Davies Award for lifetime services to bookselling. Supermarket Morrisons recorded book volume sales growth of 7.6% last year as the wider supermarket business reported pretax profit growth of 7%. Emma Bailey, book buyer at Morrisons, said it had a "strong year-on-year performance showing good growth, which is especially pleasing as we were up against Harry Potter sales [in 2008]"....

Supermarket Morrisons has signed a distribution agreement with Keighley based wholesaler Reedmoor, after its former supplier EUK went into administration. Reedmoor had already been supplying the supermarket chain with promotional stock but it will now be supplying Morrisons will all book stock.

Wholesaler Entertainment UK has extended its deal to supply books to Morrisons, and will continue to distribute titles to 375 of its stores until February 2011.
The wholesaler has been working with Morrisons, the UK's fourth largest supermarket chain, since 2005. It also extended its contract to supply the supermarket with chart CDs...
