Art book publisher Phaidon Press has bought the monthly film magazine Cahiers du Cinéma, from La Société Editrice du Monde (Le Monde). Cahiers was founded in 1951 and featured writings from Jean-Luc Godard and Francois Truffaut. Cahiers also publishes a range of books on cinema.
