Joanne Dickinson, Quercus' paperback publisher, has bought a debut novel based on real events that took place at a "haunted" rectory in the 1920s.

Quercus Publishing has appointed current Sphere and Piatkus fiction publisher Joanne Dickinson to lead its mass market publishing programme.
