A leading book production company serving the international publishing industry is looking to appoint a Production Controller to be based at its headquarters in Oxfordshire. With production and sales offices in Europe, the Far East and North America, the group works with an exciting range of publishing companies around the world producing a wide range of work from 4-colour art books to novelty board books. Their services include print broking, sourcing products, manufacturing plush toys, production consultancy, project management, training and web design. As a service company, they are looking for effective communicators who are self motivated, well organised and enthusiastic about the industry.

Applicants should be computer literate, numerate, with a good eye for detail. In return they are able to offer extensive training to equip staff with the skills required to deal confidently and knowledgeably with both clients and suppliers. To work as part of a team handling an exciting list of illustrated non-fiction the ideal applicant will have experience of working in a publisher’s production department and understand the full production process and be familiar with handling your own titles from costing through to final delivery of finished books. Experience of working in a publisher’s or printer’s production department is essential for this role, and you will need to be confident in handling a list of your own and have good technical knowledge of book production processes.
