The job: One of the UK’s leading providers of information and services for professional organisations is looking for an experienced Publisher/Commissioning Editor to take responsibility for driving forward new product development for a portfolio of financial and business information titles through to publication, both in print and electronic formats. The role will involve full title management and list development, researching and reviewing market trends and needs, developing new product proposals, budget setting, and monitoring financial performance of titles. This is a maternity leave cover for approx. 7-8 months initially.

The person: Candidates should be educated to degree level, with a sound background in product planning and development, preferably within a financial, business or legal publishing environment, and will ideally have good knowledge of the finance, accountancy, tax and business markets. Experience in publishing/commercial research, with excellent planning and organisational ability, together with keen attention to detail and confident, influential communication and negotiation skills, are essential requirements for this very busy position. A positive approach to productive relationship management, both internally and externally, plus creativity, initiative and effective team-working abilities, are also important attributes.

Salary:  up to £28k pa (pro rata), depending on experience, plus an excellent range of benefits.
