This is a great opportunity to put your excellent editorial skills to good use within a flourishing illustrated book publisher as a Project Editor on a range of titles, primarily cookery and gardening on approximately 4 or 5 titles. Our client is based in central London and this position would be to start asap for a 3 month contract.

Specific duties will include liaising with and briefing freelance designers, illustrators, and editors (proofreaders/indexers), working on layouts in InDesign, cutting and fitting text and occasional copy-writing of captions and introductory material.

The ideal candidate will be organised with fantastic attention to detail and excellent time management skills as you will need to complete work in accordance with designated deadlines. Knowledge and experience of using InDesign would be advantageous but is not essential as training could be provided. Some proven experience in working on heavily integrated illustrated books and familiarity in using Macs is essential.
