It now seeks a commissioning editor within its publishing division to take charge of a broad portfolio. Over a range of media, the successful candidate will

• develop new product proposals prior to publication to ensure they reach full commercial potential
• negotiate with prospective authors, freelance publishing contacts, and market research consultants
• confirm contract terms to ensure best publishing practice
• conduct market research amongst CIPD membership
• monitor backlist performance within his/her portfolio, updating/replacing as necessary
• maintain awareness of the promotional and product trends employed by competitive businesses
