Our client, a major, leading, global publisher of academic and educational books, journals and online products based in the Oxford area are looking to recruit a pro-active Associate Director for the Journal Digital Licensing team. This is a key position within the Market Development department and will report to the Director or Market Development who is based in the US.

The key aspects of this role will be to develop revenue streams and enhanced reach for content via licensing agreements with third party aggregators, document delivery companies, abstracting and indexing companies and other partners. Working with the Journal Digital Licensing team, colleagues and intermediaries to ensure agreements are aligned with business objectives and policies and to ensure that royalties and payments are processed efficiently and accurately.

You will also be involved in participating in the development of company wide electronic publishing strategy with regard to STMS online content in particular. Identify issues, future opportunities and resolve problems based on knowledge of the sales, process, customers and the marketplace.

The successful candidate will be of graduate calibre or equivalent, have at least 5 years experience in the STMS publishing industry and ideally the library market, with 3 years experience negotiating and sales experience, or in Rights Management. You should also have demonstrable people management skills, have the ability to think strategically – seeing plans though from proposal to implementation.
